In order to answer the question, “how is the community partners’ use of shifting Values working to re-imagine a social/historical issue?,” our group has Ariadna Santander as our community partner. She is a manager at the University of Washington who studied fine arts and cinema, and was into cultural films. She said that cinematic narratives are accessible to anyone who is able to watch a film. Many people find the film more accessible than books or novels. The cinematic lens can craft powerful narratives, and introduce many different points of view. Cinema can also leap across different social groups. The viewer is exposed to worlds they wouldn’t otherwise experience. It’s wonderful that one can visit a place like San Fransisco, and take the Hichtcock walking tour!

In conclusion, Narrative Films now have the freedom to be applied to their own values to historical times. If movies based on the time showed only the values of the time, then they could not be a part of progress. We must look at what happened back then, and use our own values to make sense of things that have happened. We must view history using our own values, and we should also let history have an impact on our values. The more educated our values and beliefs are then the stronger we can be while making decisions.
